William and Kate marked Mountain Rescue Awareness Day with a photograph featuring George, Charlotte and Louis alongside rescue volunteers and a dog. The picture reportedly came from a June meeting during Kate’s National Three Peaks Challenge, undertaken to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Having announced her cancer was in remission in January 2025, the princess had a personal connection to the cause. Yet the couple’s message kept its attention firmly on those who help others.

Signing their tribute “W & C,” the pair thanked mountain rescue teams for their dedication, compassion and readiness to respond in difficult conditions. Readers welcomed the family photograph, but several comments singled out that recognition of volunteers. “You always highlight other people’s work & never yourselves,” one wrote. Another praised the acknowledgment of people who risk their lives on rescue missions. Beyond the royal portrait, the post offered a public thank-you to people whose service can easily go unseen.
